My interest in the digital humanities began in the summer of 2009 at an SMU summer seminar with Matt Kirschenbaum and Kari Kraus. I have been playing with the idea of working digital modes of inquiry into my project for some time now. I am a C 19 Americanist with a particular interest in imperialism, expansion, nationalism, and print culture. More specifically, i am writing a literary history of Texas Annexation, and i am exploring ways that digital tools can help that project. I was pretty bad at Galaga, but i did just get a record player (i know, i have analog proclivities...sometimes).
