  • Title / Position: Assistant Professor of East Asian Religions

My name is Mark Dennis and I study Japanese Buddhism. I lived in Japan and India for about eight years studying both Buddhism and Hinduism. I received my Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies at the University of Wisconsin in 2006 working on the figure I noted above. I've been a vegetarian for twenty five years, I make a mean yakisoba and pad thai, and think Zizek's crazy. And I love him. I saw him speak at the American Academy of Religion and have used the "authentic act" in my classes to really good effect. I sit on the floor in my office but am not afraid of heights.
