• Title / Position: Cartographic Archivist

I have a life-long interest in the humanities and a deep interest in historical research. Currently I'm the Cartographic Archivist at UT Arlington Library Special Collections, but I have also worked variously as a curator at DeGolyer Special Collections Library, SMU, Dallas, as a consultant for a rare map and print dealer in Dallas, and as a former research curator at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth. Digital technology is a marvelous tool for me, but I can't imagine it will ever replace my enthusiasm for working with the real stuff. My father was a patent illustrator, so I grew up constantly hearing about new technologies -- much of which came to pass, but a lot of which fizzled. This makes me quite a skeptic.
